About the Role
In order to serve 80,000–100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring the Head of Employer Partnerships. You will lead corporate fundraising, recruit volunteer employees from partners, and open internship and job opportunities for Fellows. Responsibilities include cultivating new national employer partners, managing high‑stakes existing partnerships, and leading the six‑person Employer Partnerships team to strong outcomes. The role reports to the Chief External Affairs Officer.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership & Growth (30%)
– Define and lead Braven’s employer partnership strategy to achieve 50% of core‑model revenue and 50% of volunteers through employers, deliver internship and job access to Fellows, coordinate with internal sub‑teams to align program and revenue needs, integrate partner goals across the enterprise, analyse partnership data to identify patterns and drive solutions, and lead design and implementation of new strategies and operations using product‑development and change‑management best practices.
Partnership Development & External Relations (40%)
– Manage a portfolio of high‑stakes, value‑creating national employer partnerships; provide thought partnership to local teams in six regions; prospect and cultivate new national partners and partners in expansion regions; adapt the partnership approach to build a robust portfolio in the social‑impact and public sectors; raise Braven’s brand through thought leadership, media, public speaking, and events.
Team Leadership & Talent Development (20%)
– Coach six team members to achieve professional growth and organizational goals; foster a high‑performance culture within the Employer Partnerships team.
Operational Excellence & Impact Measurement (10%)
– Oversee new data‑collection systems and progress‑monitoring processes; ensure operational efficiency and continuous improvement through data‑driven decision‑making; perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree.
5+ years leading corporate partnerships for a nonprofit or managing a corporate sales team.
5+ years managing teams to produce strong outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of professional experience.
3‑5 years managing multi‑million‑dollar corporate partnerships or sales.
Entrepreneurial thinker who thrives in fast‑paced, ambiguous, and changing environments.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to build strong external and internal relationships, tailoring approach based on stakeholders’ beliefs, motivations, and contexts.
Action‑oriented, persevering pursuit of ambitious, measurable goals.
Proactive, data‑driven problem‑solving and decision‑making.
Accountability for results combined with care for individuals and situational context.
Detail‑oriented, paying attention to small details while keeping the big picture in view.

Work Demands

Work after hours 5‑7 nights per semester to support organization‑wide volunteer events, regional site visits, and other stakeholder engagement activities.

Compensation and Benefits
Braven offers competitive base salaries based on the midpoint of the market among not‑for‑profit organizations of similar size, with options for salary growth over time. Salary offers are set by function, scope, and impact rather than years of experience or prior salary.
Geographic salary ranges (annual):
Atlanta: $154,500 – $193,100.
Chicago: $163,200 – $204,000.
New York & Newark: $179,600 – $224,400.
Benefits include unlimited vacation (minimum 19 days per year), $25,000 lifetime Fertility and Family‑Building Carrot benefits, a 401(k) match up to 5% of base salary, coverage of 85% of health‑insurance premiums for the employee and dependents, 12‑week paid parental leave, and a one‑month paid sabbatical after four years of service.
Location: Office 3 days a week (Tuesday‑Thursday) and remote 2 days a week (Monday and Friday); each teammate may use at least two flex days per week for remote work.
