Key Responsibilities
As a Solution Architect, you will be responsible for translating client requirements into differentiated, deliverable solutions using in-depth knowledge of technology, function, or platform.
Collaborate with the Sales Pursuit and Delivery Teams to develop a winnable and deliverable solution that underpins the client value proposition and business case.
Be a subject matter expert, collaborate and manage the team to perform effectively.
Responsible for team decisions, engage with multiple teams, and contribute to key decisions.
Provide solutions to problems that apply across multiple teams.
Expert proficiency in Payments Strategy is required.
Advanced proficiency in Requirements Analysis and Solution Architecture is recommended.
Develop innovative solutions that align with client needs and industry standards.
Facilitate workshops and discussions to gather requirements and feedback from stakeholders.
Create detailed documentation that outlines solution designs and implementation plans.
Mentor and guide team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in solution architecture.
Continuously evaluate and improve existing solutions to ensure they meet evolving client demands.
Analyze, document, and optimize merchant onboarding, authorization, settlement, and reconciliation workflows.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (IT, Compliance, Operations, Risk) to ensure payment processes meet PCI DSS Level 1, P2PE, OCC, and GIS certification requirements.
Define and translate business requirements into functional specifications for payment systems, gateways, and merchant tools.
Support vendor evaluations and integrations with processors, ISVs, and acquiring banks.
Monitor merchant transaction data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and compliance risks.
Partner with compliance teams to prepare for and support internal and external audits related to PCI and OCC standards.
Document and maintain payment data flows, risk assessments, and control matrices.
Assist with incident response, remediation tracking, and security posture reporting.
Ensure adherence to all regulatory frameworks and industry standards related to payment security and data integrity.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 8 years of work exp. 5 years of experience in payment processing, merchant services, or financial technology.
Strong understanding of payment lifecycles authorization, clearing, settlement, chargebacks, and reconciliation.
Working knowledge of PCI DSS Level 1, P2PE, OCC guidelines, and GIS compliance frameworks.
Experience with payment gateways, processors e.g., Fiserv, FIS, Cybersource, and acquirer systems.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and SQL for transaction analysis.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
High School or GED Diploma
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
Industry certifications PCI Professional PCIP, CISA, or Certified Payments Professional CPP.
Familiarity with API‑based payment integrations and tokenization technologies.
Experience with merchant acquiring, POS systems, or SaaS‑based payment platforms.
