Principal Systems Engineer – RTX
Join BBN Technologies, a part of RTX, as a Principal HW/SW Systems Engineer in the Physical Sciences & Systems business unit. This role is based in Middletown, RI, with onsite work and the flexibility to work remotely one day per week.

Security Clearance:
U.S. citizenship required; active, transferable Secret clearance needed before start.
What You Will Do
Lead management of system requirements.
Capture baseline in a requirements database.
Maintain requirements database through configuration management.
Analyze and decompose Level 1 requirements to Levels 2–4 with engineering leads.
Develop and execute the verification strategy.
Coordinate with Design and Test leads to ensure robust validation/verification plans satisfy system sell‑off requirements.
Ensure system meets performance and non‑performance requirements.
Champion process‑improvement initiatives.
Lead system development and troubleshooting tasks.Collaborate with external customer scientists, engineers, and program management.
Work with program leadership to ensure program success.
Communicate status, issues, and successes through oral presentations and written reports.
Occasional domestic travel ( Qualifications You Must Have
Degree in STEM and minimum 8 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree and 5 years of experience, or 12 years of experience without a degree.
Active, transferable Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Qualifications We Prefer
Technical leadership experience (Lead Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer, etc.).
Multidiscipline system design and testing experience.
Requirements analysis, development, decomposition, and maintenance experience.
Experience with traceability matrices, configuration control boards (CCBs), and DoD requirements database tools such as DOORS®.

Salary Range:
$101,000 – $203,000 USD (based on experience and qualifications).
