RF M&S Engineer (Junior RF Sensor Modeling and Simulation Engineer) Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Junior RF Sensor Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Engineer to support a small, highly empowered team at our Dayton, OH location. The engineer will utilize M&S experience in systems, subsystem, and component models for aerospace applications.

Role and Responsibilities

Develop RF sensor models, algorithms and associated simulation software for system types and perform trade-space analysis to assess and verify system characteristics.

Document all software and hardware characteristics and changes to existing and new simulation environments; design test architecture and test plans; design and execute experiments; collect and analyze data; and generate reports.

Integrate models into complex simulation architectures, including engagement-level, theater-level, and hardware-in-the-loop simulations.

Qualifications and Education Requirements Required

3+ years of experience in the use of modeling and simulation software development frameworks.

Experience with MATLAB/Simulink.

Understanding of RF sensor principles, signal processing and analysis, and airborne radar, EW, and EA sensor principles.

Demonstrated ability to solve difficult hardware and software integration challenges.

Self‑starter able to work independently and collaboratively with minimal guidance and within rigid timelines.

Ability to interact with data suppliers, work well with coworkers, and interface with customers at disparate locations.

Excellent written, oral, and digital communication skills (technical writing, document organization).

Strong analytic skills and ability to multitask across multiple projects.

Familiarity with contractor and government roles in intelligence analysis for aerospace development and acquisition.

Located in or willing to relocate to the Dayton, Ohio area.

Desired

Professional training in modeling and simulation related to space, missile, or aircraft system performance/dynamics.

Experience in at least one additional programming language (C, C++, Python).

Familiarity with TMAP, DoD, and the U.S. Intelligence Community.

Experience developing mathematical models of aerospace vehicle dynamics, guidance/navigation, and control algorithms.

Basic understanding of system component integration and ability to model entire systems or components at varying levels of detail.

Education Requirements

B.S. degree in engineering or physics (Required).

Master’s degree in engineering or physics (Desired).

Clearance Requirements

Current Secret clearance.

TS with SCI eligibility desired.

U.S. Citizenship required.
