We are looking for a driven, collaborative, client‑focused Project Engineer to grow with our team in the Ithica, NY field office. You’ll provide effective project management to reduce costs and add value to the business by applying proven techniques. Onsite employees are expected to attend a Jacobs Workplace on a full‑time basis, as required by the nature of their role.

Responsibilities As a Project Engineer, you’ll have an opportunity to work on active projects coordinating the progression of trades and design‑field staff. Based on site with our client, you’ll support the Senior Project Manager with RFI tracking, contract document review, forecast and cost scheduling, preparation of change order reviews and payments. Services also include assisting D&C or consulting with the PM or EIC with payment application review, writing meeting minutes, preparing regular reports, conducting field inspections as required and other duties related to construction site activities. You’ll be tasked with ensuring the project moves ahead to completion according to client standards. Through this role you will have the opportunity to work on multiple fast‑moving projects and larger, long‑scheduled projects. You’ll bring solid knowledge of project delivery to a diverse array of large and small programs and monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure QA/QC compliance and project quality, safety, and security requirements are achieved.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction related field

5+ years professional experience working on large building construction or civil projects valued above $10 million or a High School Diploma and 8+ years of construction experience

Knowledge of pre‑design and pre‑construction, delivery systems, and components

Experience or comparable training in inspecting large scale building construction projects

Knowledgeable and experienced with Uniform Building Code

Possess an OSHA 30 certification

Proficient in basic computer skills utilizing Microsoft Windows and Office applications and scheduling applications

Desired Certifications

Professional certification, such as Construction Manager‑in‑Training (CMIT), Engineer in Training (EIT)
