Business Development / Capture Manager
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Business Development / Capture Manager to lead efforts in identifying, qualifying, and capturing new business opportunities. This role is responsible for developing winning strategies to grow the company’s market share, with a focus on long-lead capture planning, competitive analysis, and proposal development in both new and existing markets. This role is critical in driving the growth and expansion of our government contracting portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in identifying and capturing new business opportunities within the aerospace sector, DoD and other government sectors, with a deep understanding of the federal acquisition process and a network of contacts across various DoD agencies and industry partners.
Key Responsibilities Business Development:
Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to identify and pursue new opportunities within the aerospace and DoD market space
Identify and qualify new business opportunities in line with the company’s growth strategy
Drive pipeline development through research, market intelligence, and customer engagement
Conduct market research and analysis to stay up-to-date on industry trends and identify potential clients and partners
Capture Management:
Lead capture efforts for high-value opportunities, including developing capture plans, and supporting the proposal development process
Oversee the development of win strategies, competitive analysis, and pricing strategies
Build and manage capture plans, including milestones, timelines, and gate reviews
Work with proposal teams to ensure alignment between capture strategy and proposal content
Present and readiness assessments to senior leadership including metrics such as win rate, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction
Ensure that all capture activities are compliant with company policies and procedures, and with all relevant laws and regulations
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within government agencies, prime contractors, and industry partners to facilitate business growth and enhance our competitive position
Build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities, tracking progress and ensuring alignment with company goals and priorities
Develop and implement a comprehensive capture strategy to identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with Crown’s goals and objectives
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or similar advanced degree is a plus
10+ years of experience in business development and/or capture management, with a strong focus on federal markets
Demonstrated success in winning large-scale contracts and driving revenue growth in a competitive environment
Strong communications, strategic planning, communication, and negotiation skills.
Experience working with CRM systems, pipeline tools, and proposal management platforms.
Preferred Skills
APMP certification or formal capture/proposal training.
Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, or other procurement regulations
Established network within government agencies, prime contractors, industry partners, aerospace and DoD
Ability to manage multiple pursuits simultaneously under tight deadlines
