Description Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to join our dynamic team focused on natural gas and thermal generation projects. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, modeling, development, and testing of critical power plant systems and components. You will develop functional requirements, create simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs, and integrate components to produce final products. This position requires a professional who can monitor product quality, control process efficiency, and evaluate designs for effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. You will investigate root causes of failures and recommend improvements while providing engineering oversight throughout power plant design and construction phases. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-managed, detail-oriented professional with extensive power generation experience to make a significant impact on essential energy infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Design, model, develop, and test machines, structures, and systems for power plant applications

Develop functional requirements and apply standard engineering principles to project deliverables

Create simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and operational performance

Design and test individual components and integrate them into complete systems

Monitor product quality and control process efficiency throughout project lifecycle

Evaluate designs for overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety compliance

Investigate root causes of equipment and system failures to maintain quality standards

Recommend improvements based on failure analysis and performance evaluations

Provide construction support and engineering oversight for natural gas and thermal generation projects

Collaborate with project engineers, senior engineers, project managers, and construction managers

Work effectively in construction environments and provide technical guidance as needed

Skills

Self-managed with strong organizational abilities

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Power generation experience, particularly with combustion turbine plants

Familiarity with construction environments and field operations

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Earth

Ability to thrive in collaborative, supportive, and fast-paced work environments

Experience

8 to 10 years of relevant engineering experience

Background in power plant design and construction

Experience with owner/operator organizations or EPC firms preferred

Instrumentation and controls experience is advantageous

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution

Professional Engineer license preferred
