Job Title Rust Backend Development Engineer (Core API, Database, Authentication & Security)
Job Overview As a core part of our global, decentralized football platform, you will help build high‑performance backend services, secure authentication, and scalable data management.
Core API & Services Engineer Responsibilities
Develop and maintain production‑level Rust code for high‑performance services.
Build efficient, low‑latency APIs with frameworks such as Actix, Rocket, or Tide.
Design scalable RESTful APIs; GraphQL knowledge is a plus.
Optimize API performance using caching, load balancing, and request throttling.
Develop microservices for a distributed system integrating gRPC, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
Implement secure authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT) and enforce API security best practices.
Database & Infrastructure Engineer Responsibilities
Design and optimize relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
Scale databases horizontally and vertically, including partitioning, replication, and sharding.
Implement caching solutions using Redis or Memcached.
Ensure data integrity, implement backup strategies, and prepare for disaster recovery.
Manage cloud‑native database solutions such as AWS RDS or GCP Cloud SQL.
Authentication & Security Engineer Responsibilities
Implement authentication protocols (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT).
Secure sensitive data with encryption and safe storage of credentials and tokens.
Mitigate vulnerabilities (SQL injection, XSS, CSRF) through secure coding practices.
Design role‑based access control (RBAC) systems and manage permissions.
Conduct regular security audits and apply patches.
Qualifications
6–8 years of backend development experience.
Strong problem‑solving and collaboration skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Role‑Specific Qualifications
Core API & Services Engineer:
Deep Rust ecosystem knowledge, proficiency with Actix/Rocket/Tide, distributed systems experience.
Database & Infrastructure Engineer:
Skilled in database design, optimization, and scaling for relational/NoSQL systems; experience with Redis, Memcached, and cloud databases.
Authentication & Security Engineer:
Expertise in OAuth2, JWT, encryption, secure storage, vulnerability mitigation, RBAC design.
