We have a rewarding opportunity for a

Senior Manager, Quality Assurance

based out of the Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions Integrated Systems Santa Clarita, CA site.

You will be responsible for leading customer facing Program Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality and Inspection teams. You will

drive continual improvement of the site’s AS9100 certified Quality System and FAA certified Parts 21 & 145 Repair Station to minimize cost and maximize customer satisfaction through the delivery of on-time, high quality, highly reliable product .

You will have a

passion for root cause analysis and corrective action , a demonstrated ability to implement and drive quality and continuous improvement into manufacturing, program and supplier quality as well as experience effectively driving quality into the product development process. A background in Aerospace & Defense Programs and electronics manufacturing, electrical design and experience with IPC 610 Class 3 requirements are considered significant assets.

Salary Range $144,100.00 - $192,100.00 per year plus bonus

Responsibilities

Executes AS9100/FAA Compliance Activities via internal audits. Assist with external AS9100, NADCAP, FAA and DCMA audits to keep programs on track and resolve problems real time.

Leads the multi-site AS9100 certification and maintenance processes, filling the role of management representative as defined by the standard.

Manages the assigned Program Customer Quality processes, ensuring quick response and effective corrective actions on customer raised SCARS, audit findings and feedback obtained through the Customer Service Index (CSI) process.

Supports the planning and execution of the internal audit plans designed to ensure sustained compliance to AS9100, FAA Parts 21 & 145.

Drives the 8D CAPA process through the organization, including implementation/improvement to tools, training, and metrics.

Manages the Customer Quality processes, BOE’s, Proposals & Contract reviews.

Manages the Supplier Quality process (including performing quality audits and administering the SCAR process).

Interact with Supply Chain, Operations, Contracts and other Engineering disciplines to ensure compliance to Quality requirements and resolve Customer and Product Line nonconformances as required.

Manages the MRB process in an efficient and effective manner to keep material flowing aging/inventory values and drives reductions in product scrap through lessons learned.

Leverages a strong foundation in Lean & Six Sigma methodology to support continual process improvement and product yield investigations in support of improving customer satisfaction.

Provides QA support on the implementation of Engineering Change Orders, Program Instructions, Waivers and Material Substitution Requests.

Represents C5ISR Quality at monthly & quarterly Business, Operations and Global Quality Reviews.

Supports quality in the product life cycle (Proposal, Design, Production, Services and Sustainment).

Performs COPQ Data Extraction / Analysis /Compilation and improvements.

Lead Root Cause and Corrective Actions for customer found issues.

Ad-Hoc Travel will be required to visit customers, carry out audits and meet periodically to discuss quality plans face-to-face at other C5ISR sites within the division.

What You Bring

Experience with the implementation and maintenance of a registered AS9100 QMS applied to both manufacturing and product development – preferably within an FAA Part 145 & 21 environment.

Knowledge of FAA regulations: 14 CFR Part 21 and 145 is a plus.

Demonstrated proficiency within the functional domain in Quality strategies, standards, sciences and controls. Ability to guide implementation in appropriate applications through design and development into high-mix/low-high volume manufacturing and supply chains.

Approachable hands-on style with the ability to engage with people at all levels of management.

Demonstrated track record of leading and managing teams, recruiting, retaining and promoting talent and creating a high performing organization.

Demonstrable leadership skills and people management with a track record of building teams with high levels of Quality acumen.

Encourages high level collaboration of cross-functional teams.

Knowledgeable in the interpretation and application of the following standards: J-STD-001, IPC- A-600, IPC-A-610 Rev D Class 3, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711/7721.

Experience with QA oversight of the DO-254 and DO178-B standards and practical 8D or other structured problem-solving methodology expertise.

Product Reliability, Maintainability, Durability methodology and ESD and MSD Control Requirements.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principals, including experience with 5S audits.

Understanding of the required Engineering Documents for PCBA manufacturing.

Understanding of configuration management (CM), BOM, data and software structures.

Solid understanding of DFX principals and the NPI process & AS9145 thought leadership to Engineering & Programs, serve as champion for APQP best practices implementation.

Experience with SAP or another MRP is an asset.

High degree of Product Integrity and Ethical standards.

AS9006 and/or CMMI experience are considered assets.

Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace/Electrical/Mechanical/Software Engineering or technical equivalent with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience or Graduate degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

In lieu of a degree, candidates may be considered with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience within the aerospace and defense industry in commensurate in with the position responsibilities, skills and experience required with at least 5yrs in management of direct reports.

ASQ CMQOE and/or ASQ CQE will be considered significant assets.
