General Summary As a member of the Knowledge & Innovation Department, the Data Solutions Architect will play a key role in advancing our firm's data and artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives leveraging statistical analysis, machine learning (ML) and large language models (LLMs) to extract insights and support decision making across legal practices and business operations. The Data Solutions Architect will collaborate closely with K&I team members, technical resources and other stakeholders to create and implement data-driven innovations that enhance internal client service and operational efficiency. The Data Solutions Architect will also stay current with the latest advancements and best practices in data operations and artificial intelligence research, implementing cutting‑edge techniques as appropriate. Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate with legal and operational teams to identify business challenges and opportunities to improve legal workflows and processes.

Translate complex legal domain logic into data requirements and AI use cases.

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data infrastructure to enable innovative AI / BI use cases.

Utilize SQL, Python, R, or other data analytics tools to analyze, model, and visualize data trends and insights.

Collaborate with the firm's technology teams to maintain and refine essential data pipelines and data structures, such as warehouses and databases.

Develop and implement tools and processes for transformation of raw data into user-friendly views that enable self‑service analytics.

Apply advanced quantitative research methods, including ML and NLP, to analyze data trends, identify relationships, and develop predictive models.

Design, refine, and deploy analyses and data systems for various applications, such as text analysis, trend analysis, predictive modeling, etc.

Craft, test, and refine complex prompts for large language models (LLMs) to generate high‑quality outputs that are contextually accurate and tailored to legal research and drafting workflows.

Design and implement data and AI‑driven solutions that address cross‑functional and specific legal practice needs from proof of concept to production.

Keep up with the latest developments in AI, ML, and data science, and integrate cutting‑edge technologies into firm projects.

Job Specifications Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.

Preferred Education:

Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, with coursework in deep learning, NLP, or information retrieval highly regarded.

Required Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in data engineering and data science roles.

Competencies:

Proven experience with data analytics and data engineering with a strong focus on data modeling.

Strong proficiency in statistical programming languages (Python, R) and database management (SQL).

Familiarity and hands‑on experience with ML, NLP, and data visualization tools.

Excellent problem‑solving abilities and communication skills, with the capacity to present complex data to non‑technical audiences.

Experience in legal or professional services environments preferred.

Schedule:

This is a hybrid role which requires in‑office attendance with the schedule set forth by the department.

Salary:

$110,000 - $155,000. Paul, Weiss offers competitive compensation and benefits packages. The firm considers a number of factors when determining compensation, including, but not limited to, education, years of experience, levels of experience, competency levels and other relevant skills and qualifications.
