Senior Executive Recruiter at LHH/Parker and Lynch LHH is working with a real estate company in the Dallas area that is adding a new Staff Accountant to their team. In this role you will execute accounting tasks related to the financial information of designated properties and ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity and adaptability in a dynamic, yet evolving work environment. As part of the initiative to expand the in-house accounting team, input on policies, processes, and procedures may be solicited.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct end-to-end accounting procedures, encompassing complete accounts payable processing, journal entries, monthly accruals/amortizations, and reconciliation of Balance Sheets.
Manage multiple student housing properties within the company's portfolio.
Address queries from Property Managers regarding monthly charges, invoice coding, and month-end reporting.
Participate in the preparation of the annual budget.
Review monthly charges, Gross Potential Rent reports, and other Accounts Receivable balances.
Calculate monthly property management fees and oversee payment processing.
Generate month-end reporting packages, analyze budget-to-actual variances, and prepare annual work papers and reconciliations for year‑end tax returns and external audits.
Collaborate with the Controller on cash flow analyses.
Identify opportunities for process enhancement to improve efficiencies.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Over 1 year of prior experience in Real Estate property-level accrual basis accounting
Preference for experience in student housing or multifamily property accounting
Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Entrata, MRI, and/or Yardi accounting software is advantageous.
Coachable, enthusiastic, creative, flexible, and detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
