About the Role The Project Manager will ensure all phases of power delivery projects are completed efficiently. This role requires the ability to build customer rapport and a background in the power utility industry. The incumbent will work closely with Customer Management and United Utility personnel in Operations, Construction, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Purchasing, and the PMO. Primary duties will include overall responsibility of distribution power line projects while ensuring that all aspects of the projects are documented and completed in accordance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily project deliverables and effectively communicate these to the project team.
Manage a multi‑disciplined program; oversee all stakeholder communication.
Responsible for project scheduling and finances to ensure projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within established budgets.
Drive consensus, communicate responsibilities, and ensure ownership and accountability.
Escalate risks and issues to keep projects on schedule and on budget.
Identify and communicate lessons learned and incorporate them into projects as best practices.
Integrate and manage a cross‑functional project team to develop appropriate roles and responsibilities.
Coordinate with Operations Leads and Engineering to track and execute client deliverables.
Spearhead the development of a comprehensive project plan, schedule, communications plan, and change control methodology.
Facilitate daily, weekly, and monthly meetings with internal stakeholders and the Customer Execution Team.
Maintain all customer‑driven accrual and reporting processes.
Manage project close‑out in a timely manner to support business goals.
Provide clear, concise, and comprehensive reports for the leadership team.
Coordinate the allocation of project resources to ensure the project team has what’s needed at the right time.
Assign tasks to team members and help them understand project milestones and deliverables.
Represent B&B at work and in the community.
Key Qualifications
BS in Project Management, Construction Management, Business, or equivalent experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
Exceptional understanding of Excel to analyze data.
Self‑motivated, team‑oriented, and passionate about helping when needed; willing to adhere to quality and safety standards of B&B Electrical & Utility Contractors, LLC.
Knowledge of Project Management principles and practices.
Ability to cope with deadlines, manage time, set priorities, define roles and responsibilities, and make decisions.
Ability to work across cross‑functional teams.
3 years of related experience in Project Management.
3 years of prior experience in Power Delivery Utility Construction.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, management, customers, and the public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical interference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry.
Highly proficient in Excel with ability to apply concepts such as functions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Key Nice‑To‑Haves
Power Delivery Utility or Contractor experience.
Previous EPC construction experience.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time, talk, or hear. The employee must also demonstrate fine motor, hand, and finger skills using a keyboard, telephone, or writing.
Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with arms; may occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, or smell.
Standing or sitting for prolonged periods; repetitive or reaching motions with arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers up to 75% of the time.
Must be able to talk or hear over 75% of the time.
Must work in an uncontrolled climate environment and on concrete floors.
Weight lifted or forced: frequently moves objects up to 15 pounds, occasionally up to 30 pounds.
Vision requirements: distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to focus.
Primary work site is a professional job site environment that may require office visits.
Uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and scanners.
Infrequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts.
Noise level on job sites can be loud.
Position type: Full‑time (30+ hours); Work schedule: Monday‑Friday 7 AM–5 PM; Non‑core: long hours and occasional weekend work.
Time zone: Central.
Travel: Approximately 40% on‑site.
Physical work location: Canton, MS and New Orleans.
