Job Summary NOTE TO APPLICANTS: The following is a brief job description.

Summary/Objective The heavy equipment operator operates various equipment and trucks used in construction, maintenance, and repair activities, performing a variety of semi-skilled tasks in the construction of landfills.

Essential Functions

Operates construction or power equipment, such as backhoe, man‑lift, dump truck, bulldozer, road grader, front‑end loader, hydraulic excavators, skid steers, packers, etc.

Performs ground work from time to time, including picking up rocks, sticks, and roots, using a manual shovel.

Performs all duties in conformance with appropriate safety and security standards.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions including but not limited to hot, cold, wet, and dry.

Additional Information All heavy equipment jobs will require you to work out of town for a minimum of 5 days at a time with the possibility of working overtime and weekends and traveling from site to site.

Qualifications

Eligibility to work in the U.S. and ability to provide legal work authorization per form I‑9.

Experience operating heavy equipment and trucks in construction or related settings.

Ability to perform ground work and manual tasks as described.

Knowledge of safety and security standards in construction environments.
