Their culture emphasizes accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation — ensuring employees have the tools and resources to deliver best‑in‑class service. With a strong focus on regulatory integrity and workforce safety, they take pride in maintaining the highest standards of operational and environmental compliance.

Role Summary The DOT Compliance Contractor will play a vital role in ensuring full adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations across company-owned fleets and third-party carriers. This role supports the Director of Risk Management by monitoring compliance, conducting audits, and leading initiatives that drive safety, mitigate risk, and maintain regulatory alignment.

In this position, you’ll partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to develop and implement fleet safety programs, oversee driver compliance and incident investigations, and stay ahead of evolving DOT and OSHA regulations. Your contributions will directly impact operational safety, risk reduction, and the company’s reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage DOT and FMCSA compliance to ensure operational adherence to all federal and state regulations.

Track and analyze Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) scores, hours of service (HOS) data, and accident history.

Conduct audits of internal and external compliance processes and documentation, identifying and resolving deficiencies.

Lead driver‑related incident investigations, develop corrective action plans, and ensure follow‑through.

Maintain and update fleet safety and maintenance programs, ensuring benchmarks align with DOT standards.

Support compliance initiatives related to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and HAZMAT transportation.

Prepare and deliver compliance and safety training—both online and in‑person to employees and management.

Analyze claims and incident data to identify trends and implement proactive risk mitigation programs.

Assist with property loss control, fire protection programs, and responses to catastrophic events, as needed.

Research and recommend best practices, technologies, and systems to enhance overall fleet safety and compliance effectiveness.

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, or a related field; or a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in DOT compliance or risk management (retail experience preferred).

Completion of OSHA 10‑ or 30‑hour certification required; ASP or CSP certification preferred.

Strong understanding of DOT and FMCSA regulatory requirements, safety processes, and reporting procedures.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity with risk management systems is a plus.

Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and recommend actionable improvements.

Proven experience developing and conducting compliance or safety training programs.

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.

Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as business needs arise.
