Job Summary Hours: Full-Time – 35 Hours. Work Location: 30‑30 Thomson Avenue, NY, 11101. Eligibility: Only candidates who are permanent in the Associate Project Manager title, reachable on DDC’s Promotional Exam #3573, or the Open Competitive Exam #3110 may apply. Contracting requires Proof of Notice of Results or permanent status in the title. Those not meeting civil service criteria will not be considered for interview.

Position Overview The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Infrastructure is currently seeking a Senior Project Administrator to join the Program Management Unit’s Engineering and Support Services – Bluebelt and Wetland Management.

Key Responsibilities • Monitor the planning, design, construction, and guarantee period of assigned projects through coordination with the Office of Environmental and Hazmat Services (OEHS), the Environmental Consultants, and the sponsor agencies as well as the various City, State, and Federal Agencies.

• Oversee and track projects involving Bluebelt, Best Management Practice (BMP), and wetland mitigation work; collaborate with the project’s Restoration Specialist on wetland maintenance including erosion stabilization, invasive plant species management, and areas of planting failure.

• Monitor progress as mitigations are constructed ensuring compliance with construction drawings including grading and planting schedule; attend substantial completion meetings; perform routine site inspections throughout the guarantee period; and prepare progress reports.

• Ensure that contractors produce monitoring reports once mitigation has been completed; prepare reports for subsequent growing seasons as indicated in the permit; and ensure all conditions stipulated on permits are implemented by the contractor and supervising consultant during construction.

Minimum Qualifications

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration; and one year of full‑time satisfactory experience in project management work for engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects.

OR a four‑year high school diploma or equivalent and five years of experience as described above.

OR a four‑year high school diploma or equivalent plus any combination of college or university education and/or experience described above to make up the equivalent of five years of education and experience. One year of experience credit awarded for: (a) each 30 semester credits of college or university education leading to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the disciplines listed above; (b) a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the disciplines listed above; (c) a Juris Doctor degree; or (d) a valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect or Registered Landscape Architect. Design‑nature experience does not count toward the qualification requirements.

Additional Experience Requirements • Must have at least one additional year of experience in a supervisory capacity or have served for at least one year as a project manager for a large and/or complex construction project.

Preferred Skills

Minimum of three years of experience in the related environmental work described above.

Possession of the NYSDEC 4‑hour Erosion and Sediment Control certificate (preferred).

Familiarity with New York City Native Species Planting Guide, Tree Planting Standards, and NYSDEC rules and regulations related to tidal wetlands, freshwater wetlands, and US Army Corps of Engineers permit regulations (preferred).

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Project management knowledge relevant to infrastructure work (e.g., roadway, sewer, and/or water main).

Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple multi‑trade projects on schedule.

Knowledge of specifications, methods, operations, design, and construction of the City’s infrastructure system and current engineering practices.

Proficient in Primavera P6 scheduling (preferred).

Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) credential (preferred).

Valid driver’s license (preferred).

Personal vehicle (optional but highly recommended).
