The Seasonal Equestrian Camp Counselor position assists staff with the execution of equestrian summer camp programming and is responsible for providing a positive, healthy, and safe environment for camp participants, animals, and the public. The camp takes place at Danada Equestrian Center located in Wheaton, IL.
What You'll Do
Assist with facilitating games, arts and crafts, riding lessons, and other camp activities.
Supervise and ensure the safety of campers during all camp activities.
Assist with facility operations including upkeep of amenities and barn equipment.
Instruct and enforce safety procedures related to horse handling, riding, and equipment.
Foster a working environment that promotes safe work habits that supports a clean, organized and hazard-free camp environment.
Deliver excellent customer service and support a positive, team-oriented workplace.
What You'll Need
16 years of age or older at time of hire.
Must have and maintain Illinois Mandated Reporter certification or obtain upon hire (training provided).
Must have and maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification or obtain upon hire (training provided).
Experience in riding and handling horses is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with youth of varying age ranges.
A packed lunch, closed-toe shoes and jeans or riding breeches required.
Schedule & Pay
Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Expected start date is May 18, 2026 and lasts until camps end in mid- August 2026.
$15-16 per hour.
Work Setting
Based out of the Danada Equestrian Facility located in Wheaton, IL.
