Student: Mail Processor-OCR Operator
Location: Lexington, KY (Off Campus)
Salary: $15.00 per hour
Type: Student (Part-Time, 25-30 hours per week)
Job Summary You must be a current UK student to apply for this position. This position is located off campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with UK. Fast paced mail processing environment. Duties include walking line, catching mail, checking letters for quality barcode, correct postage and blanks, sleeve full trays of mail, placing correct tag in tray, reading tag on full tray and placing on correct destination APC, pulling APC to be weighed, counting trays, loading onto truck. Other duties as necessary to meet daily deadlines.
Responsibilities
Walk line and catch mail in a fast-paced environment
Check all letters for quality barcode, correct postage, and blanks
Sleeve full trays of mail
Place correct tag in tray
Read tag on full tray and place on correct destination APC
Pull APC to be weighed, count trays, load onto truck
Other duties as necessary to meet daily deadlines
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Ability to perform work accurately in a fast-paced environment
Quick learner with attention to detail
Lifting up to 30 lbs
Capable of standing the entire shift
