Base pay range $68,803.00/yr - $70,477.00/yr

Duties & Responsibilities Purpose of Position : Operates x‑ray equipment, develops images, and prepares radiological areas, equipment, supplies and contrast materials. Under supervision, performs related clinical and administrative tasks.

Preparers radiological area, equipment, contrast materials and supplies as needed for patients.

Prepares patient for x‑ray, explains procedures, transfers patient to table, positions patient and assists patient at end of procedures.

Follows prescribed techniques to administer general and specific x‑ray exposures, adjusting equipment, voltage, current, shutter timing and immobilization devices.

Develops images in accordance with photographic techniques.

Observes patient and machine during procedure and reports unusual occurrences and records patient’s condition.

Maintains supplies, equipment and required records.

Transports and uses mobile x‑ray equipment in patient care area as required.

Follows all proper radiation, patient, and employee safety protocols; adheres to all radiation prevention, containment, and control measures.

Effectively uses electronic medical records (EMR) to document patient encounters and access pertinent patient data and imaging results.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid temporary permit to practice Diagnostic Radiography as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
