Job Summary/Description: WB, the Gray Media‑owned Fox affiliate in Birmingham, AL, has an excellent career opportunity for a Technical Media Producer. WBRC seeks a TMP who will be responsible for working with the news department to provide coding and playout for our newscasts using Ross Overdrive automation. Master control duties include EAS and transmitter logging to keep the station in FCC compliance and other duties as assigned. These would include ingesting shows and commercials for later playback, and general studio maintenance.

The Technical Media Producer (TMP) is responsible for directing live or prerecorded productions using Ross Overdrive and Viz‑RT Graphics, monitoring on‑air signals, transmitters, and FCC logs, ingesting daily programming and commercials, and monitoring programming playlist automation. Regular assignments will involve running Master Control and directing live newscasts, and some editing.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Overdrive operation, coding, and playing of live local newscasts

Running EAS tests to keep the station in FCC compliance, monitoring transmitters, and taking accurate readings

Ability to monitor and fix problems with logs, (Crispin-Loading Dock)

Working with news to produce Live newscasts, Operation of Overdrive

Ability to work weekends and duties as requested

Qualifications/Requirements:

Able to work a flexible schedule

Live newscast production experience is preferred

Great communication skills and problem‑solving ability under pressure

Knowledge of AP ENPS, Ross Overdrive, Carbonite, Crispin, VizRT Graphics and VizTicker, Bitcentral Precis, and Panasonic PTZ Cameras

Highly skilled with Windows‑based computer systems
