This role calls for both precision and people‑centered leadership. The Registrar serves as the official custodian of academic records, the guardian of compliance, and a trusted campus partner supporting students, faculty, and staff alike.
What You’ll Do Leadership and Operations
Lead the Student Records Department, ensuring efficient workflows, data accuracy, and excellent service.
Supervise and develop staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Manage departmental budgets, contracts (including National Student Clearinghouse and Parchment), and system enhancements.
Represent The River at state and regional meetings (e.g., FCRAO) and on internal committees.
Records Management and Compliance
Serve as the College’s official Records Custodian, ensuring compliance with FERPA and state retention policies.
Oversee the preservation, security, and integrity of all academic records.
Manage record updates related to registration actions, refunds, reinstatements, and transcript changes.
Student Services and Support
Lead efforts that make registration, residency, transcript requests, and graduation clear and accessible.
Oversee residency documentation and appeals, including review of immigration documentation.
Serve as the liaison for military education programs (GoArmy, Navy GEAP, MyCAA).
Ensure that every student interaction is timely, accurate, and student‑centered.
Academic Certification and Reporting
Oversee attendance confirmations, grade submissions, and academic status updates.
Certify NJCAA athletic eligibility and Title IV compliance.
Manage transcript, diploma, and certificate issuance.
Respond to legal requests, subpoenas, and official record verifications.
Data, Reporting, and Institutional Support
Oversee state and national data submissions (FLEID, National Student Clearinghouse).
Manage access to state systems (e.g., DAVID) and produce related reports and analyses.
Support institutional reporting and accreditation needs with accurate data and documentation.
Additional Responsibilities
Contribute to College‑wide initiatives and special projects that enhance the student experience and operational excellence.
What You Bring
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in education, higher‑ed administration, or related field.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in college admissions, registration, or records management; leadership experience preferred.
Knowledge:
Deep understanding of FERPA, state regulations, and academic recordkeeping.
Familiarity with integrated student data systems and imaging platforms.
Awareness of best practices in student privacy, compliance, and digital transformation.
Skills:
Strong analytical, organizational, and supervisory abilities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
High attention to detail with commitment to service and confidentiality.
