Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Line Technician follows work instructions, completes all tasks, and maintains required documentation under the Food Safety Policies and QA/QC related issues occurring during the duty periods. Communication and teamwork are expected.
Responsibilities
Reports to the FSQA Director
Responsible for enforcement of Food Quality Systems (HACCP, SQF, GMPs)
Consistent monitoring of food manufacturing facility procedures
Data entry of QA information on production forms
Perform continuous quality checks of in‑process product throughout the shift
Perform continuous quality checks of finished products throughout the shift
Report and document any quality and food safety issues to personnel and floor managers
Conduct pre‑operational inspections of production lines including start‑up document reviews, label reviews, and sanitation verification
Back‑up for Laboratory Quality Assurance Technician conducting limited product testing
Enforce company policies and exemplify best practices in the Quality Assurance department
Qualifications
Basic math skills
Basic knowledge of Food Safety and hygiene
English (reading, writing, and speaking)
Spanish (preferred speaking)
Strong attention to detail
Strong ability to multi‑task, stay organized, and think on their feet
Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Work hours Monday through Friday up to 8.5 hours/shift, occasional Saturdays
Walking and standing up to 8.5 hours/shift
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Physical ability to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, balance, crouch, crawl, push, pull, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds with assistance
Ability to maintain body balance while ascending or descending ladders or open stairs, and to maintain body equilibrium while bending at the waist or knees
Reach with hands and arms; subject to repetitive motion of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Physical Requirements While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel; and is occasionally required to climb, balance, crouch, and crawl; is frequently required to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds with assistance; is occasionally required to maintain body balance while ascending or descending ladders or open stairs, and to maintain body equilibrium while bending at the waist or at the knees. The employee is routinely required to reach with hands and arms. Employee will be subject to repetitive motion of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Work environment may be subject to climate conditions. Environment may be wet and can consist of temperature extremes and excessive noise levels. Employees will be required to adhere to general safety and food safety protocols, which will include wearing hairnets, beard nets if applicable, and will be required to consistently practice the washing of hands. This position consistently works with and around moving parts. Attention to surroundings is crucial as it is a very busy production/manufacturing environment with a lot of forklift traffic in the production line room. Safety training is provided. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the job duties for this position and meet the physical requirements needed to perform them.
