What’s the role? As a Field Service Technician, you will support Carl Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions, LLC. Your focus will be on installation, servicing, and enhancement of custom equipment. You will collaborate with customers and cross‑functional service groups, and contribute to R&D efforts in design, build, and testing of new systems.
Here’s what you’ll do
Install, repair, troubleshoot, service, and calibrate high‑tech machines at customer locations.
Demonstrate customer service skills with passion and dedication.
Learn and apply skills on high‑tech Coordinate Measuring Machines using mechanical and electronic aptitude.
Complete administrative paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Work independently in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced, innovative environment.
Travel 90‑100% of the time, including international travel as required.
Perform other duties as needed.
Do you qualify?
High school graduate or GED.
AS/BS in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, or equivalent training, or 4 years related experience.
Experience with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
Proficiency with Microsoft operating systems.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted.
Willingness to work a minimum of 50 hours per week, including OT.
Experience in an industrial production shop floor environment.
Valid driver’s license.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Nice to haves
Experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.
Preferred, but not required, experience with CMM installation and troubleshooting.
Compensation & Benefits The annual pay range for this position is $50,000 – $63,000. Pay may be influenced by job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, and complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent. This position is eligible for a performance bonus or sales commissions. Zeiss offers robust benefits, including medical plans, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
