Job Summary and Responsibilities As our ICU Charge Nurse at CHI St. Vincent North, you’ll monitor patients who are critically ill and unstable following extensive injury, surgery, or life-threatening disease.
You’ll begin each shift by taking report from a nursing teammate before making your rounds.
You’ll provide continued care and perform procedures as detailed in the care plan. This includes assisting a physician with a chest tube or central line, providing wound care, ensuring patients receive MRI or CT, and administering medications.
To thrive in this role, you’ll heavily depend on your ability to multitask, remain focused and attentive while continuously monitoring patients, and serve as their advocate when they cannot speak for themselves. Your sound judgment during emergencies and rapid response situations will be recognized and can lead to advancement.

Assist a physician with chest tube or central line placement, wound care, imaging studies, and medication administration.
Continuously monitor patients, remaining focused and attentive throughout your shift.
Advocate for patients’ best interests and use sound judgment during emergencies.
Lead and mentor the diverse team on the unit.
Engage actively with nurses, patients, and families on the floor.
Attend leadership meetings to learn about new initiatives and share that information with your team.
Monitor productivity and efficiency of your department.
Mentor assistant nurse managers, charge nurses, and other staff.
Benefits and Compensation
We are offering a sign‑on bonus up to $25,000 to hires who meet the eligibility requirements. Additional pay is available for participation in our clinical ladder as well as referral bonuses, tuition reimbursement, relocation assistance, and excellent benefits.
Job Requirements
Unencumbered license to practice as an RN in the State of Arkansas.
Minimum of 2 years acute‑care experience, preferably in an ICU setting.
BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
ACLS certification through the American Heart Association.
