Are you a passionate and skilled Registered Nurse (full time, days or nights) seeking a rewarding opportunity in patient care? At Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, we are committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of our diverse patient population. As a crucial member of our dynamic team, you will play a pivotal role in our General Medicine Unit, delivering exceptional healthcare and making a positive difference in patient outcomes. This is a 10 bed, open-bay unit where you will care for cardiology and oncology patients who are waiting for an inpatient bed, as well as floor level patients who have just left our Medical Intensive Care Unit.

Position Highlights

Full time days or full time nights, 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am, with weekend rotation

What You’ll Need

Graduation from accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.

Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing

At least one year of RN experience

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire for Adult Critical Care, Adult ED

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire for Network ED, Peds ED, PICU and NICU, and other areas per unit guidelines

Ability to provide direct and indirect patient care

Strong interpersonal communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively

Solid written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities Patient/Family Centered Care:

Utilize the nursing process to deliver compassionate care, placing patients and their families at the center of every decision. Conduct thorough assessments, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan interventions, and coordinate care to promote optimal health and wellbeing in accordance with the policies of WFBH.

Patient Discharge & Referrals:

Participate in multidisciplinary discharge planning referrals to hospital and community resources as needed.

Safe, Therapeutic, and Healing Environment:

Create a secure and healing environment by safeguarding patient privacy and ensuring responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior. Embrace technology and equipment to enhance patient and staff safety.

Effective Communication:

Demonstrate excellent communication skills to foster collaboration among the healthcare team, facilitating information sharing throughout the continuum of care. Point of Care Testing:

Perform and maintain competency for point‑of‑care testing as assigned, waived and or non‑waived, ensuring compliance with WFBH policies and with applicable state and federal regulations.

Patient Advocacy:

Act as a passionate patient advocate throughout the continuum of care, advocating for their needs and preferences in all patient settings, including the community.

Care Management and Clinical Prioritization:

Coordinate the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services by applying care management principles. Identify clinical priorities and initiate action to continuously improve patient outcomes.

Promotion of Healthy Work Environment:

Embrace and contribute to our professional practice model through active participation in shared governance, promoting a healthy and supportive work environment. Take personal responsibility for professional growth and development.
