About Sir Lends A Lot
Sir Lends A Lot is a fast‑growing private lending company specializing in fix‑and‑flip, DSCR, and new construction loans for real estate investors nationwide. We move fast, we solve problems for borrowers, and we pride ourselves on being a lender that closes—reliably and on time.
We are expanding our loan volume and need a sharp, detail‑oriented Underwriter who knows how to underwrite private/hard money and DSCR lending in a production environment.
Role Overview You will underwrite a high volume of real estate investor loans—primarily fix‑and‑flip, BRRRR, DSCR, and construction—with an emphasis on risk management, clear conditions, and quick turn times. The ideal candidate has real private lending or non‑QM experience and is used to moving fast without sacrificing accuracy.
Core Responsibilities
Analyze borrower financials, credit, and investor experience
Review collateral documentation: appraisals, contractor bids, title, insurance, valuations, rent comps
Underwrite fix‑and‑flip and construction budgets, ARVs, exit strategies
Underwrite DSCR loans and validate rental coverage
Issue pre‑approvals, term sheets, and underwriting decisions with clear conditions
Communicate with processors, loan officers, and brokers to clear conditions and move loans to closing
Identify red flags and propose solutions—NOT just decline deals
Make common‑sense lending decisions aligned with risk tolerance
Work in LOS (Mortgage Automator, Lendr, etc.) and update loan files accurately
Turn times:
24 hours or less
for pre‑approval / initial review;
48–72 hours
for full underwriting
Required Experience
2–5+ years underwriting
private money, non‑QM, or DSCR
loans
Ability to read credit, bank statements, entity docs, HUDs, appraisals, and contractor scopes
Strong understanding of real estate investment lending and collateral‑based underwriting
Comfortable working in a fast‑moving pipeline with daily production quotas
Preferred/Bonus Skills
Experience with construction underwriting (budget review, draw schedules)
Experience in fix‑and‑flip/BRRRR valuation
Mortgage Office, Lendr, or similar lending LOS
Background with correspondent lenders or table funding
Compensation Typical private/hard money underwriting compensation in 2024–2025:
Base:
$65,000 – $95,000
Per File Comp:
$150–$300/underwritten file depending on monthly closings and meeting timeline milestones.
What Success Looks Like
Clear files with minimal underwriting rework
Reliable turn times under 72 hours
Low fallout due to clean conditions and communication
Strong alignment between credit quality and production goals
Company Culture Fast‑moving. Problem‑solvers only. No bureaucracy. We want underwriters who know how to get safe, compliant deals closed—not underwriters who hide behind “no.”
