Overview
Radiation Technologist for busy pain clinic. Responsibilities
Prepares patient for x-ray; explains procedures to patient and/or family; prepares room, equipment and materials as needed. Positions patient, use C Arm Practices radiation protection / safety techniques to limit exposure to patient and medical staff. Adjusts equipment controls; determines proper voltage and exposure time; administers routine x-ray exams. Observes patient and machine during procedure; reports unusual occurrences to physician. Documents procedure performed in patient record. Cleans and disinfects x-ray room and equipment; maintains inventory and orders supplies. Performs x-ray quality assurance tests and maintains x-ray quality assurance records. Reports any problems with x-ray equipment promptly to physician; notifies Office Supervisor of equipment problems and calls appropriate service vendors as directed. Education and Experience
Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technologist program required. Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
