Desktop Support Specialist Salary Range:

$30-34 per hour C2C applicants, not currently being considered Summary: Akkodis is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist for a contract position based in Coppell, TX. This job will be a hybrid rotation working schedule. The desired candidate will have 7+ years of desktop support experience. The Desktop Support Specialist ensures the availability, performance, and reliability of end‑user technology across all areas of stores, distribution centers, and the home office. This role is responsible for provisioning and deactivating user access, maintaining hardware and software, and providing high‑quality technical support in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Responsibilities

Serve as the primary contact for employee technology requests from all departments (Stores, Home Office, Distribution Centers, and Customer Solutions).

Diagnose, document, and resolve hardware and software issues for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.

Provision and manage user access through Active Directory and related administrative tools.

Configure and maintain various hardware, including PCs, laptops, mobile devices, and printers.

Troubleshoot and repair peripheral and printer issues both remotely and on‑site.

Administer VOIP phone systems, MDM platforms, Microsoft 365 user accounts, and other business applications.

Provide dedicated executive support and maintain A/V and conferencing technology in meeting rooms.

Install, test, and evaluate new software for both Windows and macOS environments.

Maintain detailed technical documentation and contribute to procedural training materials.

Stay current on emerging technologies, best practices, and industry standards.

Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule to provide after‑hours technical support.

Protect the confidentiality of all company and customer information.

Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in Information Technology or related field (preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in desktop support or a related IT discipline.

Experience providing in‑person and remote technical support in hybrid work environments.

Experience administering users and mailboxes in Exchange and Microsoft 365 portals.

Familiarity with MDM solutions (Workspace ONE, SOTI, etc.).

Experience deploying software via centralized management tools.

Experience managing user accounts and permissions via Active Directory.

Experience imaging Windows and macOS systems.

macOS hardware and software proficiency.

Knowledge of Microsoft Teams phone system administration.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other Windows‑based applications.

Prior experience providing high‑touch, executive‑level support.

Familiarity with A/V meeting room technologies.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to support users at all organizational levels.

Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.

Ability to train and coach users both formally and informally.

Demonstrated flexibility, initiative, and a strong customer‑service mindset.

Working knowledge of printer configuration and driver management.

Proven problem‑solving and analytical skills.
