AmeriCorps Disaster Case Manager

The disaster case management worker will conduct outreach to isolated and vulnerable communities, complete needs assessments, develop recovery plans with clients, and accompany them along their path to recovery. The worker will help plan and attend community-wide preparedness events. The worker will also be trained on and present Catholic Charities workshops for disaster case management, operating points of distribution, and conducting canvassing activities. The AmeriCorps member will utilize the Disaster Case Management Model to assist those affected by natural disasters and COVID-19 with matching resources to needs as laid out in their individual recovery plans. This position is a part of Catholic Charities USA’s COVID-19 Response Program, a national intermediary project. As a member, you will meet virtually with other members serving throughout the country, all focused on serving populations affected by natural disasters and COVID-19.
Required Qualifications
Completion or enrollment in a 2 or 4 year degree; fluency in English and Spanish oral and written communications preferred; proven writing and editing experience, ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple projects, effective interpersonal skills, proven computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of and commitment to Catholic social teachings and practices and the mission of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh; valid NC Driver’s License and a vehicle in working order for business use; authorized to work in the U.S. This is an AmeriCorps sponsored position.
