The Job You Will Perform: We are looking for self-motivated individuals who can perform a multitude of functions in a flexible, fast-paced production environment. Our workplace requires individuals who understand the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, productivity and waste.

Primary Maintenance Mechanic Duties/Responsibilities Include:

Troubleshoot, install, maintain and repair defective parts, machinery and mechanical equipment such as paper bag machines and equipment, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, physical structures, plumbing, hydraulic and automated systems

Perform preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, aligning components and observing operations, vibrations and noise level

Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, mill, welder, grinder and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.

Work safely by observing safety rules, policies, and procedures. Identify unsafe conditions or actions

Respond to work orders submitted by employees

Work independently as well as part of a team

Assist supervisor in ordering parts

Plans and obtains cost estimates and executes projects under guidance of the maintenance supervisor

Provide training in areas of expertise or knowledge

Support facility improvements

Maintain clean and organized work areas, cleaning up areas after tasks are complete

Participate and execute actions from the quality improvement program

Maintain compliance with company quality systems and support audits

Perform emergency/break down repair as needed

Other duties as may be assigned

The Skills You Will Bring:

Experience/knowledge in mechanical troubleshooting, welding, metal fabrication, plumbing, pneumatics, confined space and mobile equipment

Ability to problem solve and prioritize work

Ability to work with minimum supervision

Ability to accurately use and read a variety of measuring devices

Ability to bend, squat and kneel, and climb frequently

Ability to lift average weighted materials, 50 lbs. up to 70 lbs. occasionally

Ability to stand for 8 – 12 hours

Ability to work varied hours/days

Ability to adapt to change

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to read manuals and diagrams

Education:

Mechanical Journeyman or Technical/Vocation Certificate preferred but not required
