Base pay range: $118,500.00/yr - $154,000.00/yr

We are looking for a database administrator (DBA) to assist with the management of Oracle and PostgreSQL databases. In this position, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the data team and provide proactive support. DBA duties include account management, backup/restore/recovery, monitoring, capacity planning, configuration, upgrading/patching, documentation, user support, and performance tuning.

What you’ll do in this position:

Assist with upgrading and patching, backup and restore, monitoring, and system configuration

Independently analyze database problems and provide problem resolution

Assist software engineers with account management, performance tuning, design review, user support

Automate DBA tasks using Python and Linux shell scripts

What qualifies you for this role: Education/Experience:

Minimum education/experience required: Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and related experience

Preferred: Master’s degree; 1–2 industry certifications related to tools used in the job

Skills, abilities, or knowledge:

Knowledge of database structures, theories, principles, and practices including table normalization and enforcing data integrity

Knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers

Ability to identify and resolve database performance issues, such as slow queries, inefficient indexing, or resource contention

Ability to use log files, related trace files, and other methods for troubleshooting and optimization

Knowledge of database security management

Ability to configure network components to ensure database access

Ability to automate tasks using Python and Linux shell scripts

Effective technical communication with infrastructure teams, developers, and less-technical users

Experience with cloud database technologies and VMs is helpful
