VP Oracle Database Administrator
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid 3 days/week onsite)
Overview We are seeking a seasoned Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with extensive experience in performance tuning, high availability, and full lifecycle database administration. This role involves maintaining and optimizing enterprise-level Oracle database systems to ensure high performance, resiliency, and uptime.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle database environments.
Monitor system health, availability, and performance.
Perform database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and data security.
Manage Oracle Grid Infrastructure and storage (including ASM).
Automate routine DBA tasks and support HA/DR solutions (RAC, DataGuard).
Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and support production releases.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure reliable and efficient database operations.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of hands‑on Oracle DBA experience (versions 11g, 19c+).
Strong expertise in performance tuning and core DBA functions.
Experience with Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Linux/Unix environments.
Solid scripting skills (SQL, PL/SQL, Shell).
Strong communication, ownership, and problem‑solving abilities.
Preferred
Prior financial services industry experience.
Exposure to cloud environments and other RDBMS (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Sybase).
OS administration skills.
Personality Fit Team‑oriented, proactive, and a self‑starter who communicates effectively and shares knowledge.
