PSC Group is seeking a licensed Tank Barge PIC (formerly known as Tankerman) to serve as the person-in-charge of critical operations, protecting the environment by ensuring the safe transfer of petrochemicals to barges. The position requires a U.S. Coast‑Guard Merchant Mariners Credential (MMC). PSC Group has a reputation for quality service, safety, environmental protection, and employee care. Work Schedule
6 days on call (24 hr call) and 3 days off. Pay Range
$35.00 – $45.50 per hour (varies on experience); mileage reimbursement and other incentives available. Job Requirements

Serve as Person‑In‑Charge of the barge, ensuring safe product transfer to and from vessels. Travel to the job site as instructed by dispatcher within the allowable time frame. Carry all equipment from vehicle to facility, assuring that all necessary equipment is at hand. Meet with the facility Person‑In‑Charge to discuss and coordinate transfer expectations. Wear all protective clothing and equipment, including respirator and fresh air equipment as required. Inspect the barge prior to transfer to ensure vessel is mechanically sound, seaworthy, and transfer can be accomplished safely. Check the Piping Diagram and inspect the Certificate of Inspection (COI) and Certificate of Financial Responsibility (COFR). Complete and sign the Declaration of Inspection (DOI). Connect cargo arm or hose and align the barge’s valves to send and receive cargo. Call dispatcher to inform of any irregularities of the vessel or facility before transfer. Stop transfer and call dispatcher immediately if irregularities occur during transfer. Check the engine and pump for mechanical soundness before discharging operations. Monitor and adjust cargo flow throughout the transfer operation. Monitor and adjust barge’s mooring lines throughout the transfer operation. Fill or empty the barge with product as requested by customer or dispatcher. Disconnect the cargo arm or hose and complete required paperwork once transfer is complete. Secure the barge’s valves and openings and prepare the barge for sail. Call dispatcher with job information prior to departing to job site. Complete any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job. Job Qualifications
18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S. Pass drug screen, physical, and background check. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus. Equal Opportunity Employer
