Position Description This position performs a wide variety of functions related to applying a paint finish to completed units and sub‑assemblies, some of which may have unusual finishes, with a brush or spray gun.
Essential Functions
Mixes paints, enamels or lacquers to specified colors, consistencies and viscosities for spraying and brushing.
Prepare surfaces, mask and apply coating to a variety of parts, improvising to meet specifications required.
Touch up marred or defective surfaces on painted parts discovered during repair or inspection tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Required Skills
6 months industrial or automotive painting experience preferred, experience with precision work on small parts or unusual finishes strongly preferred.
Ability to use small tools and measuring instruments including Zahn‑Cup / Micrometer.
Must be able to work in an environment where paint, solvent fumes and dust are present.
Must be able to wear dust mask or respirator.
Must be able to color blend and color match existing finishes.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1 year related work experience required; 2‑4 years preferred
Previous experience with NADCAP audits preferred.
Must be a US Citizen.
This position is located at our Black Mountain, NC facility. Relocation assistance is not available.
