The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our dynamic software development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance user interfaces and scalable backend services that power GM’s next-generation eCommerce experiences. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers across functions to deliver seamless and engaging customer-facing solutions.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to key initiatives including the redesign of our Notifications Platform and the broader evolution of our OnStar services ecosystem. The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with deep proficiency in front-end technologies and a strong understanding of backend integration, who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments.
Architect and develop front-end applications using React, Remix, and Shopify Hydrogen
Build cross-platform mobile solutions with React Native
Lead enterprise-grade Shopify implementations, including custom storefront development and optimization
Write scalable, maintainable code using TypeScript and modern web architecture
Optimize storefront performance for speed, SEO, accessibility, and conversion
Integrate with backend services via GraphQL and REST APIs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and DevOps
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership
Required Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience in software engineering
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
Advanced proficiency in React, React Native, and TypeScript
Strong understanding of performance optimization for storefronts
Experience with Cloudflare or similar edge computing platforms
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and monitoring tools
Excellent communication and collaboration skillsFamiliarity with Next.js and design systems
Preferred Qualifications
Hands‑on experience with Remix and Shopify Hydrogen
Proven track record in enterprise Shopify implementations
Experience with Shopify Plus, Liquid, and custom storefront APIs
Background in high-growth startups or top‑tier tech companies
Contributions to open‑source projects or technical publications
Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.
Salary range for this role is $128,000 to $226,200. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
