Cardiac Sonographer
Join the Stress Lab team as a Cardiac Sonographer at Piedmont HealthCare. This position is ideal for new graduates and experienced candidates. It includes four 10‑hour shifts and two weekends per month, with calls scheduled eight to ten days per month, 7:00 pm‑7:00 am.
Job Purpose Perform inpatient and/or outpatient cardiac ultrasound testing, including 2D echo/Doppler exams with bubble study, contrast, and limited studies for cardiac function, effusion assessment, and thrombus assessment. Provide complex technical care with ultrasound technology for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, and document preliminary exam findings.
Qualifications
Minimum Education Required:
Graduate of a registry‑approved ultrasound program, a CAAHEP‑accredited Cardiac Sonographer program, or equivalent experience according to the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).
Minimum Experience Required:
None.
Licensure/Certification Required by Law:
Current registered or registry‑eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with RDCS certification or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) with RCS certification; credential must be obtained within twelve months of hire; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification in accordance with the American Heart Association is required.
Additional Qualifications:
Two years of related experience as a hospital inpatient or outpatient/ambulatory cardiac sonographer preferred.
