The Medical Technologist Supervisor provides leadership and expertise in Clinical testing, Phlebotomy, Client Services, Billing and other lab support functions. Responsibilities

Monitors daily operations including team member schedules, job performance and productivity. Oversees quality and safety standards and compliance with regulatory requirements. Perform duties of a technical specialist in the Laboratory. Clinical testing and result reporting in all areas of competency. Coordinate test schedules, quality control procedures, troubleshooting, maintenance of procedure manuals, training and documentation, and inventory control. Consistently demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong and energetic commitment to laboratory’s mission of efficiency and quality. Positive role model for peers and coworkers. Performance, evaluation and reporting of procedures outlined in SOPs. Notification of panic values to ordering physicians. Resolution of problems in testing and quality control. Maintenance of SOPs. Initial changes in SOPs as needed. Must complete required CE hours per year. Qualifications

Licensure and Certification

Certified as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by ASCP or CLS by NCA or AMT or equivalent ASCP Specialty or Categorical certification. Maintain certification with required CE hours per CMP. ASCP certification prior to Jan 1 2004 exempt from maintenance program. Experience

Minimum four (4) years of clinical work experience as a Medical Technologist. At least three (3) years in a leadership role (senior/lead level with increased responsibility). Preferred experience N/A. Education

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (BSCLS) from an accredited program OR Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science with graduation from NAACLS‑accredited CLS/MT certificate program OR Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science with 10+ years of on‑job training in a hospital health care environment performing high complexity testing in blood banking, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and clinical microscopy (categorical or generalist certification required). (Unless grandfathered under previous hiring requirements) Preferred: Masters Degree in Clinical Lab Science (MSCLS) from an accredited program. Supervisory Responsibilities (if applicable)

Rotating weekends as required. Holiday scheduling as required. On‑call availability for emergency coverage on any shift. Physical Requirements

Lifting: less than 20 lbs, 20‑50 lbs. Exposure to potentially hazardous and infectious substances. Prolonged standing, sitting, frequent bending, walking (distance), climbing (steps, ladder, other). Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing legibly, reading, logical thinking. Fast‑pace environment, steady pace, ability to handle multiple priorities, frequent and intense customer interactions, noisy environment, adaptability to frequent change.
