Major Function / Role Apply standard engineering practices and techniques to assigned projects for constructing liquid natural gas (LNG) facilities (docks, moorings, and other port structures) and LNG transport vessels; perform planning, design, and production of engineering drawings, including supervision of production of drawings, prepare and assemble specifications for ports, coastal structures, and deep or shallow water oil and gas platforms; participate in engineering investigations and feasibility studies of engineering designs for civil engineering structures of multi‑billion‑dollar projects (SPAR, semi‑submersibles, oil & gas structures, coastal structures, and marine carriers).

How Will You Contribute to the Team?

Ensure adherence to construction procedures and collect data samples for quality control testing.

Conduct data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.

Coordinate, research, and problem‑solve on a variety of engineering projects with unique or controversial problems, the solution of which has a significant effect on major organization programs.

Work closely with Architecture, designers, other discipline engineers and project managers as part of a multidisciplinary project delivery team.

Ensure that all structural engineering deliverables comply with applicable codes and standards.

Ensure all project documentation and deliverables are reviewed in accordance with corporate QA/QC procedures.

Perform construction administration functions including shop drawing reviews, site visits and RFI response.

Prepare material for reports and permit applications, gathering information, preparing text and/or work progression documents, and graphic presentations.

Perform field observations of construction of structures such as port terminals, cruise terminals, and oil & gas platforms.

What Will You Contribute?

Master's degree in civil engineering, Ocean Engineering, or related field and two years’ experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Must have 6+ years’ experience in the use of AutoCAD, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint in a marine construction engineering context.

6+ years of experience in structural design and analysis for coastal and marine structures, including the use of concrete, steel, and timber structures.

6+ years’ experience with mooring analysis using Opti Moor, Orca Flex, or comparable commercial software, as well as with calculations for ship mooring and berthing forces, including wave force modelling for moored ships. Domestic and international travel required 10% of the time.

Professional Certifications

P.E. License is required.
