About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Revenue Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate revenue recognition across multiple business units, with a strong focus on subscription-based revenue streams.
What You’ll Do
Revenue closing: Drive and manage all revenue‑related close activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations (for Revenue, Deferred Revenue, Unbilled Receivables, and Contract Assets/Liabilities), and period‑over‑period flux analyses.
ASC 606 Compliance: Ensure all revenue recognition practices are in strict accordance with ASC 606 and other applicable US GAAP standards.
NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM): Utilize and optimize NetSuite’s Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) module to automate revenue recognition processes, manage revenue plans and schedules, and ensure data accuracy.
Contract Review and Analysis: Perform accounting review of customer contracts, agreements, and non‑standard terms.
Global Collaboration and Reporting: Partner with international teams to ensure consistency in global revenue recognition practices and support multi‑subsidiary reporting and foreign currency.
Process Improvement & Automation: Actively seek process improvements that will bring accuracy and efficiency to the team and financial systems.
Audits and Internal Controls: Coordinate and provide support for internal and external audits, supplying documentation, analysis, and explanations for revenue transactions.
Cross‑Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with Sales, Sales Operations, Legal, Billing, and FP&A teams.
Mentorship: Mentor and train other team members on revenue accounting principles and system usage.
Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals and objectives of the department/company.
Qualifications
3‑5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus on revenue recognition in a SaaS or technology company.
Strong expertise in US GAAP, specifically ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, and SOX compliance.
Advanced, hands‑on experience with NetSuite ERP, especially the Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) module.
Proficiency in advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex spreadsheets) and related software such as Salesforce.
Experience working in a multi‑entity or multi‑business unit environment; international accounting experience is highly desirable.
Experience with managing large sets of data.
Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and business partnering skills across regions.
Ability to work independently and proactively manage your own work streams.
Highly organized with great attention to detail, analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills with good business judgement.
Motivated by dynamic and challenging environment, flexible, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA certification or active pursuit is highly preferred.
