NVIDIA Application Engineering provides technical support to NVIDIA global customers. Our main mission is delivering NVIDIA GPU and SoC related technical information to our customers, training them to design NVIDIA related products, collaborating with OEM/ODM for new feature development, and supporting efficient build of NVIDIA GPU and SoC products into the market.
We are looking for a Hardware Application Engineer in Santa Clara. The role involves new feature development, testing, debugging; prioritizing customer software/hardware issues, resolving problems, and maintaining good customer relations. This highly technical engineering support role requires superb interpersonal skills to understand, explain, and problem‑solve for customers and engineers.
What You’ll Be Doing
Working with NVIDIA multi‑functional teams for GPU and SoC feature development, testing, and debugging.
Providing technical support during development, testing, and production.
Performing hardware and software design reviews to ensure customer designs meet NVIDIA guidelines.
Conducting installation, configuration, debugging and bring‑up of customer hardware.
Working directly with NVIDIA customers, analyzing data to answer questions, reproduce errors, resolve, or escape customer issues.
Being involved in customer interaction, setting up and driving communication via conference calls and face‑to‑face meetings.
Supervising, filing new bugs and reproducing issues as needed.
Building design guides, application notes and other supporting technical collateral.
Working with PMIC, power sequence, battery life and regulator design.
What We Need To See
BS or higher in EE or Systems Engineering or equivalent experience.
5 years’ experience with notebook system design (hardware and software), programming knowledge in Python/C/C++/VB/Linux Shell programming.
5 years’ experience with regulator and PMIC design, PDN analysis, power sequence.
Professional‑level interpersonal skills, with ability to adjust communication to technical level of audience; driving technical issues across multiple teams.
Knowledge of Linux, comfortable in various Linux environments and Windows OS.
Good knowledge of X86 System Architecture and ACPI.
Familiar with computer system architecture, microprocessor, microcontroller fundamentals (caches, buses, memory controllers, DMA, etc).
Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd
BIOS engineer experience for 2+ years.
Experience with ARM, PMIC, regulator.
Experience developing SBIOS features for specific platforms (MMIO, SMBus, IPMI, IOAPIC will be plus).
Hardware design and knowledge of PCIe, I2C, DP/eDP/HDMI, USB‑C, I2S, SATA.
Extensive knowledge of notebook hardware, circuit design, power, thermal and electrical systems.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is $136,000 USD – $212,750 USD.
