2026 Strength & Conditioning Fellowship
The 2026 Strength & Conditioning Fellowship will:
- Provide hands on opportunity for the next generation of strength and conditioning professionals in high performance and tennis‑specific strength and conditioning.
- Train the next generation of leaders in strength and conditioning specialized in tennis athletes and player development.
- Provide an opportunity for independent research on current topics in strength & conditioning, player development, coaching or related topic.
Fellowship will last up to 18 weeks from February to June.
- Stipend $13,500 plus approved travel expenses
- Mentoring by USTA Player Development Strength and Conditioning staff
- Hands on opportunity learning how to run testing, set up training sessions, and involvement in special projects designed to further develop skills and knowledge
- Hands on opportunity to apply learnings for tennis‑specific strength and conditioning sessions for select players training at the National Campus under a supervised coaching role
- Completion of online seminars, workshops, and skills training to develop the frameworks for coaching competitive youth and professional tennis players
- Completion of iTPA CTPS (Certified Tennis Performance Specialist) program
- Opportunities for professional engagement with mental skills specialists and national level performance coaches
- Skills development in leadership, player relations, and media relations
- Additional on‑site development opportunities at other USTAPD training centers as well as regional centers
- Potential travel to Training Centers in Carson, CA, Regional Training Centers and various tournaments
- Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field (degree earned in last five years) OR Graduate student in Exercise science or related field
- Fellows should have CSCS certification
- Fellowships are based at the Home of American Tennis in Orlando, FL
- Housing expenses are not provided
- Fellowship program may be partially virtual
- Fellow should maintain a high level of personal fitness and professionalism
- Fellow should be able to provide references upon request
- Fellows must be US citizens or individuals lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence
- Fellows must be Safe Play Approved throughout the duration of the fellowship which includes completing a criminal background screen, acknowledgment of the USTA Safe Play Policy, and completing SafeSport training
