GA/Part-Time Strength and Conditioning Coach

Franklin College, an NCAA Division III institution and a member of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC), invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant/Part Time Strength and Conditioning Coach. This position provides the opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the daily operation of a collegiate strength and conditioning program and have direct team responsibilities.

The successful candidate will assist the Director of Strength and Conditioning in all aspects of the strength and conditioning program for Franklin College’s 22 varsity sports.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for a variety of men’s and women’s athletic teams while having individual sport responsibility as well.
  • Lead and supervise training sessions under the direction of the Director of Strength and Conditioning.
  • Monitor athlete performance, progress, and safety during workouts.
  • Assist with facility maintenance, scheduling, and equipment organization.
  • Contribute to the education of student-athletes on proper lifting techniques, nutrition, and recovery.
  • Collaborate with athletic training staff to ensure programs are aligned with injury prevention and rehabilitation protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach or Director of Athletics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
  • Current certification in CSCS (NSCA) or SCCC (CSCCa) required.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
  • Prior collegiate or high school strength and conditioning experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to the values and mission of Franklin College and NCAA Division III athletics.
