Data Reporting Analyst

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts

We are looking for a skilled Data Reporting Analyst to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in managing and delivering accurate data reports while collaborating with team members and stakeholders to ensure data consistency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects within the education industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and distribute both scheduled and ad‑hoc management reports using advanced tools and methodologies.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all reporting outputs while maintaining comprehensive documentation for reference.
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies caused by errors in source systems, ensuring data integrity.
  • Extract, transform, and analyze data using spreadsheets and visualization software, addressing anomalies and facilitating corrections with the data team.
  • Gather requirements for new reporting needs by collaborating with stakeholders to understand objectives.
  • Utilize Tableau and other reporting tools to create insightful data visualizations and dashboards.
  • Monitor and optimize reporting workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment on data strategies and outcomes.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of reporting systems and processes.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on reporting tools and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of five years' experience in data administration, financial analysis, or reporting.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, including Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and VBA scripting.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, including programming and reporting capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Cognos Business Intelligence and related tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a solid understanding of relational database structures.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate in team settings.
  • Experience in higher education or research administration is highly desirable.
