Huntsman is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to support the Polyurethanes (PU) Division located in Arlington, Texas. This position reports to the Americas Accounting Director.
Job Scope
The Accounting Supervisor will manage a team of 3 direct reports (total team of 8) and oversee general ledger activities, month‑end close, cost accounting, audit support, internal controls, and policy management. The role demands cross‑functional collaboration with Financial Reporting and a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage 3 direct reports and supervise the overall accounting team.
- Lead monthly financial close activities, ensuring proper US GAAP application, journal entry preparation and review, variance analysis, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Collaborate with Financial Reporting to guarantee accurate financial statements.
- Oversee cost accounting, monitor batch production data, coordinate physical inventory counts, calculate product costs, and analyze inventory cost and usage variance reports.
- Support the annual audit process by preparing and reviewing schedules, and independently resolve audit inquiries.
- Continuously improve month‑end close and related accounting processes.
- Maintain internal controls in compliance with SOX and uphold relevant policies and procedures.
- Oversee direct reports’ deliverables and facilitate their career development.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, conduct comprehensive actual‑vs‑budget analysis, and present findings to management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an accredited business program.
- 8+ years of accounting experience.
- 4+ years of supervisory or managerial experience.
- Unrestricted right to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification.
- Experience with SAP Business One.
