About the Role
The Director, Global Tax Operations is responsible for overseeing the company’s global tax function across 40+ countries. This role ensures compliance with international tax laws and reporting requirements, while supporting business operations and strategic initiatives. The position partners closely with regional finance teams, external advisors, and senior leadership to manage compliance, reporting, and planning activities under US GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead global tax operations across all jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with corporate income tax, VAT/GST, transfer pricing, and other indirect taxes.
Manage the preparation and review of global tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in line with US and international tax regulations.
Serve as a strategic tax advisor to business leaders and internal stakeholders on global tax implications of business activities and transactions.
Oversee global transfer pricing compliance, including intercompany pricing updates, documentation (Master and Local Files), and Country-by-Country reporting.
Develop, implement, and enhance global tax processes and controls to support a growing international tax function.
Support global tax planning initiatives, including structuring, repatriation strategies, and tax‑efficient cash management.
Partner with external auditors and advisors to manage tax audits, controversy matters, and related inquiries.
Collaborate with the VP of Tax on US and foreign tax matters, including cross‑border transactions and entity structuring.
Lead and mentor direct reports, fostering growth and collaboration within the global tax team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced tax qualification (e.g., MST, JD/LL.M.) preferred.
8+ years of progressive experience in international tax operations, compliance, and planning, ideally in a multinational or Big 4 environment.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and global tax compliance frameworks.
Proven ability to manage complex cross‑border tax issues and multiple concurrent priorities.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience implementing tax process improvements and managing global teams.
