Engineering Director
Toole Design Group in Denver, CO is looking to hire an experienced and talented full‑time Engineering Director to oversee and expand our practice.

Since 2003, we have expanded throughout the United States and established our Colorado presence in 2013. Responsibilities
Lead a talented team of engineers on challenging multimodal projects.
Plan and execute strategic initiatives for marketing, business development, and regional growth in Colorado.
Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout Colorado.
Oversee performance of major multimodal design projects, ensuring high standards of quality.
Represent Toole Design with local government authorities, decision‑makers, and advocacy groups.
Collaborate with the leadership team in Colorado and the West to deliver creative solutions.
Qualifications
Colorado PE license and local/regional consulting experience.
At least 15 years of engineering experience in conceptual design, alternatives analysis, developing construction documents, and/or public agency construction administration focused on streetscapes and multimodal projects.
At least 10 years serving in a project and/or design management role.
At least 10 years of experience in marketing and business development with a proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
Broad knowledge base in civil or transportation engineering, with specific experience in street design and proficiency in CADD.
Experience supporting local agencies and jurisdictions with CDOT permitting and project coordination.
Salary & Benefits We are targeting a salary range of $150,000 to $190,000 for this position. Candidates with more years of experience or exceptional qualifications may enter a different pay range.
The Engineering Director earns a competitive salary and benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, a health savings account (HSA), a flexible spending account (FSA), paid holidays, paid time off (PTO), and transportation incentives.
Work Schedule This full‑time position typically works a hybrid schedule of 40 hours a week: on‑site Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with up to two days of remote work per week. The Denver office is located downtown, just blocks from Union Station and Civic Center Station.
