Scientist 1, Analytical Development

Catalent Location: San Diego, CA – 100% on-site Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, core hours 8am-4:30pm Responsibilities
Perform and train others on analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC/UPLC, GC, UV/Vis, dissolution testing, moisture analysis, TGA, DSC, PXRD, SEM, hardness, friability). Develop cleaning verification methods and execute excipient compatibility and forced degradation studies. Troubleshoot and optimize analytical methods for drug products and intermediates. Perform qualification studies for method transfer to Quality Control; design and execute experiments independently (complex designs may require supervision). Interpret data, maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, and review peers’ work for scientific accuracy and compliance. Lead discussions with clients on technical project topics to increase client interaction. Apply scientific principles, chemistry concepts, GMP standards, and technical writing skills. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science required; minimum 1 year analytical development experience. Master of Science preferred with 2+ years analytical development experience. Proficiency in qualifying analytical methods for API, intermediates, and final drug products (HPLC/UPLC stability studies, GC, dissolution, water content). Experience with physical characterization techniques (TGA, DSC, PXRD, GVS, SEM). Develop product‑specific cleaning methods to support GMP manufacturing equipment. Accessible to lab and office staff; vision to read documents and use computer monitor. Pay & Benefits
