Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Admissions manages the recruitment process from inquiry to enrollment for prospective students from an assigned geographic territory to achieve or exceed established recruitment goals. This position manages admissions file review for an assigned territory, maintains relationships with community partners, organizes enrollment related events, develops and implements student recruitment strategies, and participates in the day‑to‑day operation of the admissions office.
Compensation $48,000 - $52,000 per year — commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications. This is a full‑time, on‑site, exempt position located at Pioneer Plaza in downtown Honolulu.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Two years of work experience in student recruitment, university admissions, public relations, or related experience
Demonstrated computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite
Able to travel, as necessary, for extended periods ranging from several days to two weeks at a time
Experience working with teams, and professional presentation and public speaking skills
Desired Qualifications
Master's degree
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
One year of staff/employee management experience
Experience in recruitment, event planning, marketing, web and social media
Experience in Ellucian Banner and/or CRM/Target‑X
Experience in higher education administration in the private sector
Other Qualifications
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship and relocation allowance is not available for this position.
Report to work obligations to support the department and may require work during HPU's winter break, if necessary
Must meet training and background check qualifications and comply with the Protection of Minors policy
Must have reliable transportation to all HPU worksites and other locations as required by the position
This position may also require driving responsibility for an HPU vehicle
Due to driving responsibilities, you must meet training and background check qualifications and comply with HPU's Vehicle Driving policy
Able to work in an environment that utilizes excellent time and stress management skills
Must be flexible, willing to work evenings and weekends, able to multi‑task, and enjoy speaking in public and to large groups
Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions Recruitment (50%)
Develop and implement recruitment strategies, marketing and projects for assigned territory market.
Evaluate and analyze markets, including doing research of educational system, funding opportunities, marketing/advertising channels, to determine target markets and effective recruitment strategies using statistical data and budgetary consideration to enroll students that support the university mission.
Actively Market HPU's educational products and services to students/parents, agents, colleges/universities and professional/educational organizations.
Plan, cultivate and maintain contact and good working relationships with prospective students, parents, agents, and key staff at educational institutions and other relevant organizations, such as high schools, junior/community colleges, recruitment agencies, global organizations, and universities in the assigned region, wi
