Overview
MS Teams Voice Engineer (Senior)
at
Amentum , Washington, DC. On‑site role with up to 25% travel. Requires Top Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
Lead enterprise deployment of Microsoft Teams Voice services across 800+ sites, including dial plan design, SBC configuration, and integration with Operator Connect and Direct Routing.
Configure and maintain advanced Teams Voice features such as e911, call queues, auto‑attendants, voicemail, and number management.
Conduct infrastructure health checks and apply software, firmware, and security updates to telephony systems and components.
Manage development/test lab environments to validate VoIP devices and Analog Telephone Adapters (ATAs).
Integrate Teams telephony with enterprise systems, service desks, and ITSM workflows to support business continuity.
Apply and maintain STIGs, manage vulnerability scanning and remediation, and ensure PKI and certificate validity.
Use monitoring tools and dashboards to track uptime, performance, and usage trends; generate reports for stakeholders.
Serve as the escalation point for complex telephony issues, working collaboratively across IT, security, and operations teams.
Support junior engineers and staff through documentation, peer reviews, and technical guidance.
Requirements
Active Top Secret clearance with willingness to obtain SCI access and pass a polygraph.
U.S. Citizenship (no dual citizenship).
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Pass a criminal background check.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in enterprise telephony or unified communications, with direct experience supporting Microsoft Teams Phone System.
Work onsite five days a week in Washington, DC with up to 25% travel.
Proficient in PowerShell scripting, Microsoft Teams Admin Center, and Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and strong attention to detail.
Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Teams Voice technologies: Direct Routing, Operator Connect, Session Border Controllers (SBCs), SIP/VoIP routing and dial plan design.
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Systems, or related IT Management, or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
Preferred
Experience migrating from legacy PBX to Microsoft Teams Voice.
Familiarity with government cybersecurity compliance frameworks (e.g., STIGs, FISMA, NIST).
Experience with integrating Teams Voice with third‑party systems or services.
Microsoft 365 Certified: Collaboration Communications Systems Engineer Associate (or equivalent).
Pay Transparency Verbiage Base salary range $101k to $107k. Eligible employees and dependents may elect medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan, deferred compensation plan, and Executive Deferral Plan.
