Job Title Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner – Structural Heart (Advanced Practice Provider – Structural Heart NP/PA)

Location White Plains Hospital – Cardiac Catheterization Lab, White Plains, NY

Reports To Associate Medical Director, Cardiac Catheterization Lab

Position Summary As a Structural Heart APP, the PA/NP will work in an administrative and clinical capacity with collaborating physicians, clinical staff, patients and their families, insurance companies, and vendors, in the planning, evaluation, and coordination of care for Structural Heart patients across the entire continuum of care, including pre‑procedural and post‑procedural care in outpatient and inpatient settings.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Understand and adhere to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.

Ensure effective communication with all parties, delivering superior patient care and experience.

Coordinate overall clinical program and ensure processes are in place to ensure smooth operation and patient flow for Structural Heart patients referred to the Valve Clinic.

Coordinate the clinical interdisciplinary team and services for pre‑procedural evaluation prior to heart valve surgery, including Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR).

Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to present professional‑based presentations, meetings, and communication skills.

Be involved in research clinical trials, patient and professional educational programs, and patient follow‑up.

Play an evolving role to meet the needs of patients and the Structural Heart Program.

Gather all patient data points needed for the ACC NCDR TVT and LAAO registries in accordance with definitions and submission deadlines.

Describe knowledge of insurance coverage systems, including co‑payments, prior authorizations, and referrals.

Coordinate safe discharge/transfer of Structural Heart patients.

Provide education to patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical‑surgical treatments and/or medications.

Write orders for medications, lab work, and diagnostic tests; interpret results.

Document all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations.

Maintain documentation compliance for appropriate coding and billing.

Notify specializations for consults when indicated.

Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.

Current national certification.

Minimum 2 years of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Invasive Cardiology or Cardiology APP experience; prior Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement experience highly desired.

Familiarity with EPIC EMR, MacLab, and clinical data collection highly desired.

Experience with clinical trial management, quality and data abstraction, or clinical research coordination a plus.

Current New York State licensure.

Current DEA licensure.

Current AHA BLS and ACLS certification.

Current Infection Control certification.
