About The Team
As an engineering manager for the Host product team, you’ll lead a cross‑functional team of Software Engineers that build features to support the supply side of Turo’s global marketplace. This team builds the tools that help our hosts start and run their businesses by enabling them to list, accurately price, and manage their vehicles and trips.
What You Will Do
Collaborate extensively with Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and Data Analysts to plan, build, and deliver high‑impact features in a fast‑paced environment.
Provide mentorship and guidance to your team as we navigate the product roadmap.
Collaborate with Product Managers to build a roadmap based upon key business metrics, elevated objectives, and sponsored initiatives.
Lead by example, and get hands‑on to help your team deliver their projects.
Help engineers with their career growth by assigning them to projects tailored to their skill levels, personalities, work styles, and professional goals.
Adapt to changing business and technical environments, proactively communicate and address resourcing challenges with other Engineering leaders.
Work closely with the Turo recruiting team to hire high‑potential candidates from diverse backgrounds.
Your Profile
2+ years of management experience plus 4+ years of engineering experience.
Passionate and confident leadership, taking pride and ownership in your team's work.
Experience with architectural patterns and anti‑patterns of large, high‑scale consumer applications.
A bias toward taking action, using the best available data to justify decisions and move the business forward.
Ability to hire, mentor, and develop career plans for engineers of all levels.
Leads by example, holding yourself to the same standards you set for your team.
Strong communicator: sharing knowledge upward, downward, and across the organization, and relishing regular one‑on‑one discussions with each team member.
Proven understanding of business metrics, able to suggest and scope product feature work to maximize business impact.
Enjoys solving complex problems and helping others meet their goals.
Comfortable explaining complex technical concepts to designers, product managers, and engineers.
Salary & Benefits The San Francisco base salary target range for this full‑time position is $202,000‑$252,000 + equity + benefits. These ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your work location during the hiring process.

This role will be in‑office on a hybrid schedule — staff will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
